ECO — energy saving and cost effective drives that allow to store your data reliably for less money. They have lower rotation speed (5400-5900 rpm) which leads to lower power consumption and slower degradation.

STANDARD — commonly used standard server high-end drives that give up to 60% productivity increase compared to ECO. Their rotation speed is higher (7200 rpm), disk and reading heads architecture is designed to survive under high loads. 60% increase can be observed only for certain types of operations. Unless you really need high-end 7200 rpm drives, we would suggest you to use ECO and choose SSD for high load tasks.
